11-18 Nov'22 The 2022 IBSA Blind Football Asia- Oceania Championships will be held in Kochi, Kerala, India from the 11th of November to the 18th of November 2022.
This is the first time in India that a parafootball event will have 10 men's teams and 2 women's teams. This parafootball event is a qualifier for the World Championships Birmingham 2023 and the Paris Paralympics 2024.
Officials and delegates from across the world are attending including the Chairman of Blind Football Mr Elias Mastoras from Greece, referee coordinator from Argentina, medical classifiers from US, Brazil, UK and referees from the Asia - Oceania region.
This will be the biggest para football event held in India and will help spread awareness about the game. We are broadcasting the matches online on digital platforms to recognise and empower blind football players.

Competition Venue
The competition takes place at the United Sports Centre. The sports centre was built in 2021. It’s set in 1 hectare of greenery with two artificial grass grounds. There is a refreshment area located at Infopark Expressway, near the Infopark Southgate Entrance, Kochi. United Sports Centre’s convenient location makes it easy for first-time visitors to find.
Distance from Hotel Four Points Sheraton to United Sports Centre: 600- m (-7 mins walk)
Distance from United Sports Centre to Sunrise Hospital-: 4km (-8 mins by car)

National teams, officials, referees, classifiers, and other invited participants will be staying at the:

Food Arrangements
During the championships, accredited members will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel
Meal timings are :
Breakfast - 06:00 to 09:30
Lunch - 12:00 to 15:00
Dinner - 20:00 to 23:00
Depending on the final match program, modifications may occur. There are vegetarian options at all meals. Gluten-free and other special dietary meals are available on request at an extra cost.
Travel Information
Local transportation between Cochin airport and the competition venue/hotel will be provided to all accredited delegation members. We will provide this service from the official arrival day to the official departure day. National teams must provide information on travel arrangements. Pickup at airport/ can only be guaranteed if the travel details are provided by the dates requested on the booking form.
The participants need a valid passport and a visa for entering India. In addition, as entry restrictions to India are frequently changing based on the COVID-19 situation, please check the updated rules and regulations by the Ministry of Health (click here).
