Blind Football Demo game and Awareness session in Mumbai - FEB 2017

IBFF ( Indian Blind Football Federation) conducted it's first blind football demo game and awareness camp in Mumbai today at the Kick Priyadarshini Park Astro Turf ground on Nepean Sea Road. The event was attended by blind footballers from Wilson College, Xavier's XRCVC and other organisations from Mumbai . The event involved a demonstration game between two Mumbai sides representing Wilson College and a team made up of members of XRCVC and other institutions with the Wilson college winning the game in the penalty shootout 1-0 with a goal by Azhar Shaikh from the last kick of the penalty shootout after a goalless 40 mins. The game was kicked off by cinestar Shriya Saran, brand ambassador for blind football in India and inaugurated by Mr Biswanath Sinha, Director Tata Trusts Sports. An orientation and explanation of tactics session followed conducted by Sunil J Mathew, sporting director IBFF and coach of the Indian national blind football team. The aim of the camp was to to raise awareness about sporting abilities of the differently abled and help build a blind football team in Mumbai.
